Comedy, suspense, music and film abound in Yellow Point Drama Group’s spring production which runs Friday and Saturday from March 12 – 27 with a bonus ‘sneak peek’ on Thursday, March 11. Doors open at seven with the music starting at seven thirty and a curtain time of eight. Tickets are fifteen dollars.
This season also marks the return of ‘Dinner Theater’ on Saturday, March 20, which features a decadent buffet. Seating is limited for this event so early reservations are recommended to prevent disappointment. Tickets are $30 with a meal time of six thirty.
Three one act plays will be featured:

A comedy about a Broadway playwright who decides he is going to try to be gay. He sees this as the only way to garner success on the theater circuit and generates many laughs during this male 'change of life' crisis. |

This is a classic 'who-done-it' with many twists and turns leaving the audience on the edge of their seat until the final moment. |

The final dramatic piece is a world premier written by this local playwright. A morgue is the unlikely setting for the comedy of errors which leaves the two morticians arguing over a body that's still warm. |
Along with the laughs and suspense, each week will feature the heartwarming music local artists. Each week will feature a different performer promising a unique experience every night.

Bob Harrison - March 11th
Bob was born in Fort Erie Ontario, and has been engaged with music since his early teenage years, when he started playing the guitar & singing. He formed many bands over the years, and between semesters, toured Ontario, performing nightly in lounges to pay for college. Bob has written a few songs over the years for friends and business functions. Now that Bob is retired from the corporate world and living on the island, his passion for music has returned as a main focus of enjoyment. His style includes easy listening rock and ballads. |

Bobbi Schram - March 12th and 13th
Bobbi is a well known and respected Vancouver Island singer/songwriter/performer residing in Nanaimo. She writes/plays and sings her original material, and has co-produced her CD titled “Terminal Station”, a CD of 14 of her songs with Jerry Paquette at his Raincoast Studio in Nanaimo. Bobbi's style is easy/listening, adult/contemporary, relaxing, and just "Bobbi's unique music style". She has been working on her music and writing songs since receiving a guitar as a young teen, then later teaching herself enough piano to create and write her own songs. |

Mary Murphy - March 19th and 20th
Ms Murphy, a versatile and fiery singer/songwriter born in Dublin, Ireland and residing in Canada, has built her own musical bridge on which she unequivocally invites all visitors to step across. Mary Murphy is best known to many folks as a gifted Irish singer, recording artist, composer and dancer (not the Mary Murphy from that dance show!). Now, with the publication of her novel, The Emerald Diaries: Secrets of an Irish Clan, she has proven to be an equally exciting and fascinating new author. “Mary has demonstrated yet another amazing creative talent--the gift of the Seannachie (revered Irish storytellers)." |

Sarah Marie Wood - March 26th and 27th
Nanaimo/Vancouver Island area has been home to international musical artist/composer, Sarah Wood’s family since the mid -1970's. Sarah has been involved in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and recently moved back redefining and “Finding my feet”, as she puts it, as a musician and composer while raising her son. Sarah has kept her involvement in the community by performing bi-annually for the VIU convocation and seniors' communities, in which she feels is both an honor and privileged. “I am excited to be promoting my new CD "Ocean Tapestry"; a compilation of 12 piano pieces spanning more than 30 years of my preoccupation with coastal waters reflecting the 12 months of the year. Ah…, but, what I am particularly passionate about is - stage musicals! I look forward to staging "Take Off (or Take the Fall)", the second, of two full-length stage musicals I never intended to write. |
